French Toast Stuffed with Nutella - Calvin Twip Poole

It's been a while since I have had a good guest post and the other day I was trolling Twitter and saw this. My response? "Trying my best to not scream, 'That looks fucking awesome'. Oops". It was a cheeky attempt at humour but I ended up having a bit of a chat with the chef who posted it, Calvin Twip Poole. From Cape Town. You gotta LOVE the internet, eh?

Long story short, Chef was kind enough to share his recipe. And it's just simplicity at its tasty greatness. Make this! And follow Chef on Twitter at @pool1e

You'll need:

  • 2 eggs
  • pinch of salt (it's needed)
  • drop of vanilla essence
  • a little milk to stretch, if needed
  • Nutella
  • bread (stale or fresh)
  • butter for frying the toast

Mix the eggs, salt, vanilla essence and a bit of milk. Whisk together until well mixed. Heat the butter in a medium frying pan. Dip the bread in the egg mixture and place in the pan for 2 - 3 minutes on each side.

It's key to add the Nutella while the toast is still steamy hot, add Nutella and watch it melt and drip all over. Enjoy!
